Description
LOCAL ARTISTS’ EXHIBITION 2009
On July 18th 2009, the Artists’ Association of Kalymnos opened their doors to the public with a wide range of paintings, photographs, jewellery, pottery and handcraft of excellent workmanship and inspiration.
The artists, who were all present on the opening night, were warmly congratulated by the visitors to the exhibition, who did not fail to comment on the impressive development of some of these amateurs since last year’s show.
The Association’s determined President Mr Nikolas Smallios and the Secretary Kalliopi Smalliou say: “ We shall go on persevering for more recognition. It takes hard work and persistence but it’s worth it because self expression is a vital element in today’s societies”
The Exhibition, in the Assembly Hall of the 1st Primary School in Stathmos, Pothia, is open daily from 10:30-13:30 and 19:30-22:30 and will close on August 5th. Some exhibits are on sale and make wonderful souvenirs for holidaymakers on the island.
